Description:
Hyperdrive has a very
similar effect to Warp Drive or Pseudovelocity, in that it allows
faster than light but non-infinite speed interstellar travel.
Hyperdrive consists of moving along a dimension other than the 3 normal
spatial dimensions, and thus taking a shortcut around most of the
normal 3-D space one would normally travel through. (Think of
moving along the surface of a sphere, or taking a shortcut through the
middle. This is a 2-3D equivalent of the 3-4D explanation for
Hyperdrive.
