Description:
This is the
technology of moving about the galaxy in spacecraft that move slower
than light (but still quite quickly). While interplanetary travel
is possible (but imprecise) without a good understanding of the
underlying mechanisms, interstellar travel is not. At the speeds
required to travel interstellar distances in reasonable time,
relativistic effects will make such a vessel unsurvivable without work.
Depending on preferences, this could require some
kind of sensing device to make sure interstellar debris isn't in the
way.
