| A Review of The Spheres of Heaven by Charles Sheffield |

This book is a continuation of The Nimrod Hunt or The Mind Pool (they're two versions of the same story, but with substantial differences). This picks up about 20 years after the first book left off, with humankind in a quarantine within one light year of the solar system. The other aliens of the stellar group decided they were too dangerous, so they were denied access to the link network. All this changes when an active link is discovered outside the stellar group (where none should be), and every ship that goes through it fails to return. The other aliens of the stellar group recruit humans to go find out what happened. |
